MASSIVE UNDERGROUND EXPLOSION KILLS 37, PARAHUMANS SUSPECTED
...In the early hours of August 23, an explosion jarred an otherwise quiet night in the downtown Chicago area, collapsing over 3 miles of Chicago sewer tunnels, breaking windows in buildings as far as 6 blocks away, and ultimately killing at least 37 people. PTA Commander Roger Eden reported that his officers and staff have been working in the hours since the blast to search for survivors, recover victims, and discover the causes of the terrible catastrophe. "We don't have anything concrete yet, but preliminary signs indicate that there was para-human involvement in causing this tragedy." Eden further reported that all of the victims appeared to have been either sewer workers or construction crew members, who had been there on round-the-clock shifts repairing damage from the previous evening's super"hero" encounter on Randolph street. Eden indicated that further details would be provided at a later date, and commented that "The Mayor has contacted us about imposing a state of emergency, and possibly a limited martial law and curfew. I think these things are completely necessary in order to protect our citizens from the danger posed by runaway parahuman villains and their so-called "hero" vigilante counterparts. If you let these people run unchecked in your city, these kinds of tragedies are the inevitable result."...

ANOTHER TRAGEDY STRIKES OVERLAND PARK FAMILY
...Sarah Hollis, wife of retired Air Force Major Arthur Hollis (who died a little over two weeks ago in a small aircraft crash outside Lawrence) was murdered last night in her Overland Park home. Police say initial investigations suggest a break-in gone awry, but no suspects or motive have yet been determined. Hollis, mother of two adult daughters, recently retired from her position as branch manager of the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Overland Park. Neighbors report that she had been devastated by her husband's death, and had taken no visitors before an unidentified man, possibly of Native American heritage, was spotted entering the home yesterday. Police do not know whether this visitor is connected with the murder, but are seeking him for questioning....

MORE STRANGE AIRCRAFT SIGHTINGS OVER DESERT
...Residents of Las Vegas suburb and planned community Warrick Dunes have again reported seeing both lights and strange aircraft in the skies above their desert community. Over the last week, no less than five separate reports have been phoned in from Warrick regarding lights in the night sky bobbing over desert hilltops, bullett-shaped aircraft or "UFO's" speeding through the air, just above the treetops, and of strange noises drifting in from the brush. Authorities have attempted to downplay the events. Josh Grailer, Warrick's deputy chief of police, noted that "we haven't seen anything down here that can be verified. Folks are getting a little worried, but area 51 is in New Mexico, right? We really don't think we have anything to worry about."...

You know... I heard that the unconscious bodies of masked men were found bound in that woman's back yard a few nights after her death. And two pistols were found near the bodies. And forensics will most probably find stiple on the gentlemen's gloves, indicating that they had recently fired a weapon. And I bet that if the forensics test bullits fired by one of those guns, they will find that the scaring on the bullit will match the scaring on the bullit dug out of the woman's head... but that is just a guess. I mean... I am only going on what I heard... I wan't there or anything.
