POLICE STILL BAFFLED BY BANK ROBBERIES
... Pittsburgh Police Chief Thomas VanKirk, at a press conference this afternoon, revealed that the Police still have no clues as to the identity of the person or persons who have robbed four banks and five armored cars over the last three months. Bank officials at Mellon Bank, PNC Bank Corp., and Equibank met in a closed door session to discuss increased security measures. Seismologists from Carnegie-Melon University have been recruited by Police to assist in tracking, detecting, or predicting the massive seismic waves that seem to have struck the bank walls and vault housings, as well as roadways on which armored cars were travelling at the time of the attacks. Police are further analyzing the lone piece of surveillance evidence in order to determine possible suspects....

Unidentified Woman Found Mugged and Tied on City Street
...PTA Squad members patrolling the downtown area last night after reports of parahuman activity were stunned to find an unconscious woman, tied hand and foot, laying on Wacker Drive this morning at approximately 3:45 A.M. The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital and treated for head injuries, described as non-life-threatening. PTA Public Relations Officer Martin Gregory told reporters that the woman had been the victim of a mugging, likely by super powered assailants, and had suffered severe blows to the head and torso. It was also believed that the assailant or assailants had attempted to drown the woman in a fountain near Sears Tower, but were thwarted by the timely arrival of PTA officers...

Murder Victim Found Outside Chicago Named as FBI Burgler
...A murder victim found in a basement of a house 25 miles from Chicago has been matched by DNA evidence to the recent burglery at the Omaha FBI building, sources said this afternoon. The body, identified by Chicago police as John Alderson, was subjected to routine DNA analysis, and inexplicably showed as a match for DNA evidence taken from the crime scene at the recent burglery of the Omaha FBI offices. FBI Captain Dan Peterson told reporters at a press conference this afternoon that FBI officials are working closely with Chicago Police detectives to determine the connection between the FBI break-in and the murder scene in Chicago, which appeared to police there to have been a kidnapping gone bad. Alderson, the Chicago victim, was shot in the head from behind at point blank range, apparently while threatening an unidentified kidnapping victim, say police sources in Chicago. Two other suspects were arrested at that scene, and are currently being interrogated by authorities, who say they have yet to provide any information....
