SPECIAL SESSION OF THE U.N. CALLED TO CONSIDER MACHINE INTELLIGENCE
From the New York Times:
A special session of the General Assembly of the United Nations has been scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2013 at the U.N. building in New York City, to consider and debate the proposal of the so-called "Universal Machine Intelligence" relating to suffrage and rights for sentient machines. Leaders from all member nations are slated to be in attendance to discuss the matter.
Since yesterday's surprise revelation world governments have been in chaos as officials struggle to deal with the paradigm shift in the world's situation. Some are operating as usual, while others struggle to completely alter information flow and storage to eliminate computers from the loop.
U.S. President Josiah Bartlett indicated in a press conference yesterday that the United States is considering the situation, and has not yet formulated a position. Much will ride on the outcome of Friday's conference in New York.
FROM THE GAMEMASTER:
This friday evening, we will run a special online/skype campaign event to roleplay the U.N. conference and any aftermath. Any campaign members are invited to attend and participate via skype. Ellen will participate, if she does, with me at our house. Bryan has offered Greg a seat at his house friday night to participate from there with him if Greg is in town and wants to play. Other arrangements will be worked out as necessary. Contact the GM via email to reserve a slot on skype.

So far, I have seen 3 of the seven votes for leader. Those votes do not include those of the candidates themselves. Considering it is 3-0 Mantis, I concede. Mantis is now the leader. And with leadership comes responsibility. So you have to take care of the group and the mansion. The keys are under the door mat. If you need me, my phone works. I am in Montana, getting closer to my Flathead blood.
